My top LEGO summer 2026 sets – from trains to grannies

Of the dozens of LEGO summer 2026 sets, my top picks include expected additions and unfamiliar themes, and I can’t wait to delve into them all.

Now that the LEGO community at large has had plenty of time to digest all of the summer 2026 set reveals, it’s time to start building a wishlist with some considered thought. I’ve been going just as much over the past few days, whittling down my lengthy summer 2026 wishlist to be more reasonable and budget-friendly.

Chief among my condensed wishlist are six sets, which I look forward to adding to my collection over the next few months. LEGO City has more than a few spots in the list, thanks mostly to 60501 Lava Land and 60511 Vintage Steam Train. Nostalgia is a major factor in my desire for the former, referencing one of my most beloved themes.

I don’t have the same nostalgia for Classic Space and Pirates as much of the Brick Fanatics team, getting properly into the hobby when themes such as Power Miners and Atlantis sat on shelves. Those days have long since passed, and I find myself disheartened to see that the themes which I am nostalgic for aren’t referenced as often as older ranges. Thankfully, it’s Power Miners’ time to shine this summer.

60501 Lava Land‘s treasure trove of Power Miners Easter eggs is one of the biggest reasons why I’ll be building the City set this summer, but that’s not the only reason. As a theme park fan as well as a LEGO enthusiast, any kind of LEGO attraction model appeals to my interests, especially when the theming is as detailed as it is in 60501 Lava Land. I only wish it didn’t repeat the exact same layout as 60421 Robot World.

Also on my wishlist from LEGO City is 60511 Vintage Steam Train. Trains are another of my major interests, and I have been meaning to add a steam train to my collection for some time. The various Hogwarts Express models and especially 21344 The Orient Express Train have been out of my monthly budget, though. That’s why I’m eager to pick up 60511 Vintage Steam Train as soon as possible. By eschewing electronic elements and a full loop of track, its lower price is much more enticing to me.

My only prior experience with LEGO Bluey has been through the theme’s first polybag, but I will have to dive back into the theme briefly this summer through 11216 Grannies with Bingo and Bluey. I’m admittedly far above the target demographic for the animated series, but there’s something so charming about the minifigures and contents of this model, especially at £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99. It will be an easy addition to my basket come June.

Similarly, I don’t often delve into Harry Potter. As much as I enjoy the story, most of the theme’s sets just don’t interest me and tend to be on the more expensive side. 76478 Book Nook: Dumbledore’s Office definitely falls under the latter, but I can’t help but adore how busy this book nook is.

After visiting the UK Harry Potter studio tour with family a few years ago, I distinctly recall the overwhelming scale of the film set for Dumbledore’s office and just how much there was to see.

I get that same feeling from 76478 Book Nook: Dumbledore’s Office. I’ve been searching for a companion to 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook for my shelf, and this LEGO Harry Potter summer 2026 model is just what I’ve been looking for. The black pieces towards the top even remind me of the various lighting rigs that were kept out of frame.

While there are certainly some NINJAGO models on my summer 2026 wishlist, I won’t shine the spotlight on them in this feature. Instead, 80121 Ancient Moon-Gazing Inn has instantly caught my eye. From its decent value at £99.99 / $129.99 / €109.99 to its minifigure selection, I’m curious to see more of this model before I inevitably pick it up to pair with 71861 The Old Town and 71858 Four Weapons Blacksmith. It has even prompted me to research Su Dongpo, whose works aren’t quite as well-known here in the UK.

My excitement for Forza Horizon 6 and the franchise’s previous partnerships with LEGO piqued my curiosity when I saw two Technic sets based on the upcoming game. 42234 Dodge Viper GTS-R and 42235 Ferrari 488 PISTA both come with a livery to use in the game, out May 19, and I’ll be certain to pick up 42234 Dodge Viper GTS-R come the summer. I’m only hoping that these liveries won’t be the end of the in-game LEGO content for the title, but nothing has been confirmed.

These six sets are just a part of my still-lengthy wishlist of the summer 2026 models, of which you can browse by clicking here.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
