Neverending Story removed from third 2022 LEGO Ideas review

Chances of a LEGO Ideas Neverending Story set have come to a halt as a copyright request removes a project from the third 2022 review.

A couple of days after the third 2022 LEGO Ideas blog post announced the projects that made it into the phase was released, the article was updated with the reveal that FACEBRICKUP‘s submission has been removed from the review due to a copyright takedown request.

Specifically, the updated LEGO Ideas blog post states in place of the 19th entry, “Removed and will no longer be considered in review following copyright takedown request by license holder,”

“Please note that when submitting creations based on existing licenses or the likeness of others, incidents may occur where we have to remove creations when requested to do so by the license holder.”

It’s an unfortunate result for those who supported the project but one that is entirely possible when submitting LEGO Ideas projects based on an existing property, as the blog statement notes. The user’s account is still live on the platform, unlike that of another project that recently disappeared, with their western train station still in the third 2022 review as normal.

The removal of this project leaves just 35 entries in the third 2022 LEGO Ideas review with the title of the blog post updated accordingly. None of the other submissions have been removed at this time.

Why is this being treated like breaking news when we’ve known about this since at least 5th January?
