New dinosaur for Jurassic World: Dominion may offer first look at LEGO sets

A new still from Jurassic World: Dominion has revealed a fresh dinosaur, following confirmation that the film will be getting LEGO sets next year.

Empire has unveiled a new image from Jurassic World: Dominion, showing the return of Owen Grady as well as another species of dinosaur, with an interview describing what makes this ancient beast different from those seen before.

“Where the Velociraptor is more of a stealth hunter, the Atrociraptors are a bit more brutish,” Colin Trevorrow, director for Jurassic World: Dominion explained in an interview with Empire. “These things will just come at you. And in this particular case, they’ve picked up Owen’s scent, and they’re not going to stop until he’s dead. They’re pretty brutal. They’re pretty vicious.”

The Atrociraptor as seen in the still seems similar in design to the classic Velociraptor, meaning that the LEGO Group may be able to reuse the specialised piece for them.

The source also mentions that Pyroraptors will be another new species seen in Jurassic World: Dominion, with the name suggesting that they will also share similarities with Velociraptors.

LEGO sets based on the new film have been confirmed thanks to a teaser in a 2022 catalogue featuring the logo for the movie. There have been no officially released images for them yet, but the scene in Malta revealed in the screenshot suggests that a minifigure of Owen Grady will be included in at least one of them.
