New trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage shows off LEGO Marvel sets

Sony Pictures has debuted a brand new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, showing off two of this year’s LEGO Marvel sets.

While both 76187 Venom and 76199 Carnage are technically branded as ‘assembled from the Spider-Man universe’, it seems pretty obvious that they’ve actually just landed on shelves to tie into the Andy Serkis-directed sequel. (Carnage would be a pretty niche character choice otherwise.)

We’ve now got a better look at the latest on-screen designs for both those characters thanks to the new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which sees Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson return in the title roles.

Hit play on the video above to check out the trailer in full, which sees Hardy’s Eddie Brock clearly having adapted to life with the symbiote. The genesis behind Carnage – the symbiote that bonds with Cletus Kasady, played by Harrelson – isn’t made totally clear in the trailer, but it seems to have something to do with a lethal injection going terribly wrong.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will arrive in cinemas on September 24, almost a year past its original release date of October 2020. 76187 Venom and 76199 Carnage, meanwhile, are both available to order now at LEGO.com.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
