Another LEGO NINJAGO comic has been announced to revisit the pilot with a fresh take early next year, written by the same team as the series.
Image Comics has revealed that a new LEGO NINJAGO comic will be coming in March 2027. While previous comic books based on the theme have depicted stories from the past, this one will only be revisiting the first story from the animated series.
LEGO NINJAGO: Masters Of Spinjitzu will be written by LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising lead writers Kevin Burke and Chris 'Doc' Wyatt and illustrated by Alessandro Valdrighi. It tells the story of Kai and Nya being separated by the forces of Lord Garmadon. Kai will master the art of Spinjitzu from Master Wu and meet his new allies – Cole, Jay, and Zane – to try and save Nya

Where the story will differ, though, is that we will see this plot from Nya's perspective as she uses her wits and new allies to escape the Underworld. It is confirmed in the announcement that this comic is a reimagining of the pilot over 15 years later, and is therefore essential reading for NINJAGO fans.
“It is so exciting to see this classic story brought to life in a new way," stated Diegs Lopez, Senior Editor at Skybound. "Chris and Kevin bring their love of Ninjago to this story, and Alessandro beautifully brings it to life with massive action set pieces and nuanced character work.
"It’s the perfect entry point for new fans or old looking to revisit their favourite story through a different lens.”
LEGO NINJAGO: Masters Of Spinjitzu will be released in March 2027, following the end of the theme's 15th anniversary and another comic this year. An assortment of new sets have also been released for the 15th anniversary, including the massive 71861 Old Town at £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. That set is packed with exclusive minifigures and nearly 5,000 pieces.
