No LEGO theme is safe from buildable figures

The summer 2026 LEGO set reveals include several more buildable figures, bringing some new themes into the LEGO Group’s latest obsession.

With the many LEGO summer 2026 set reveals finally behind us, and recorded on our dedicated guide, it’s time to add just a couple of buildable figures to the list of character creations released or releasing in 2026.

The LEGO Group has become more and more infatuated with buildable character figures in the past few years, as explained in a recent feature. These depictions of popular characters appear to be selling well enough for the LEGO Group to invest heavily in them, and a couple of themes will be joining the growing list as of June 2026.

Looking at the number of buildable figure sets of specific characters released each year, it’s now clear as day to see that 2026 has a wide lead.

Those summer 2026 reveals include quite a few buildable figures, mostly from themes that have become known for these models. There are more Minecraft figures, the second Fortnite display figure, and many more Harry Potter character creations, just to name a few. Unfamiliar entrants include Star Wars, with its first up-scaled minifigure set – 75461 Up-Scaled Darth Vader Minifigure.

There are two sets to highlight within these many recent reveals, though. Bluey and Animal Crossing are joining the growing list of LEGO themes with buildable figures through 11217 Brick-Built Bluey Family and 77059 Timmy & Tommy’s Fun Day Out. The Bluey set depicts the Heeler family as buildable figures with various accessories referencing episodes. There are interchangeable expressions, and the set is designed for five people to build it at once.

77059 Timmy & Tommy’s Fun Day Out is more of an upscaled diorama, but still fits neatly in the list of buildable figures of specific characters. Both themes stand out for only featuring minifigure-scale models previously, but now expanding to buildable figures. In Animal Crossing’s case, 77059 Timmy & Tommy’s Fun Day Out will be its only set starting in 2027 after the minifigure models all retire.

Whether you like them or not, buildable character figures are not just here to stay, but there’s likely to be a lot more of them on the horizon. It will be especially just how far in the lead 2026 is by December 31.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
