One of two LEGO Disney mini castle’s location rumoured
With two rumours circulating about LEGO Disney mini castle, we might know which fictional castle one is based on.
Thanks to online rumours reported by exabrickslegogo_ on Instagram, the rumoured LEGO Disney 40708 Mini Castle might be based on Ariel’s Castle, with a longer name suggested by exabrickslegogo_ as 40708 Mini Disney Ariel’s Castle. 40708 was first spotted via the price comparison site brickmerge.de, but the title didn’t give away the potential inspiration for the miniature castle.
Ariel’s Castle would make sense as a build. After all, Disney just recently released the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, a movie that the LEGO Group has already created a number of sets around, including 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell and 43213 The Little Mermaid Story Book. Indeed, we even already have 43207 Ariel’s Underwater Palace, which first released in March 2022 and is due for retirement at the end of 2023.

Seeing as 40708 Mini Disney Ariel’s Castle is rumoured to be coming 2024, perhaps this would be a smooth replacement. While 43207 focuses on the underwater palace, Ariel is a lucky princess with an on-land castle as well, so the secondary set could be a miniature version of the castle she shares with her prince outside of the ocean instead.
Of course, we won’t know for sure until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group, so take this information with a pinch of salt for now.
