One satisfying reason not to rip open 71039 Marvel Series 2 boxes

Shoppers have been ripping into boxes of LEGO 71039 Marvel Series 2 since their release, but now there’s a very satisfying reason to keep them intact.

We first spotted 12-pack boxes of 71039 Marvel Series 2 a few days after their wide release on September 1, making it a little easier to get close to a full set without duplicates. However, it’s not only the ease of collecting the Marvel minifigures that makes this stack of boxes appealing.

LEGO Product Designer Atticus Tsai-McCarthy shared a video of the boxes on Twitter, demonstrating how smoothly they slide out of the 12-pack box. It works much like an oversized Pez machine, with a slot at the bottom that allows you to slide one minifigure pack out, with gravity pulling the rest of them down. You can watch it in action via the embedded video below.

Earlier reports of the 12- and six-packs of minifigures anecdotally (via reddit) suggest that you can avoid duplicates by buying in bulk, adding even more reason to pick up one of the satisfying boxes. What’s more, the themed artwork on the outside could make this a handy display box, with some nifty repurposing.

There are plenty of different options for how to pick up 71039 Marvel Series 2 now, with options of buying individual minifigures, packs of six boxes, a case of 36 boxes, and a box of a dozen minifigures now available. In addition, if you’re feeling lucky and want to buy them truly blind, you can order the new Collectible Minifigures from LEGO.com now for £3.49 per minifigure.
