The first trailer for the Pharrell Williams LEGO movie – Piece by Piece – has confirmed the film to be the most fashionable LEGO film so far.
The LEGO Group and Focus Features' Piece by Piece finally has a trailer before it releases on October 11 and since the movie focuses on Williams' real journey to becoming a music artist with cameos from other singers and songwriters, it only makes sense that real fashion brands are referenced too.
We've scoured the trailer (and the internet where our fashion knowledge was limited) to showcase just how fashionable the most unique LEGO movie yet is, by far beating any other LEGO movie or set.
Billionaire Boys Club
After a partnership with LEGO VIDIYO and given that the brand was founded by Pharrell Williams, it only makes sense for Billionaire Boys Club to heavily feature in the new movie through a pin, a hoodie and a couple of shirt.
New York Yankees
The New York Yankees also make a appearance in Piece by Piece via a black cap adorned with the iconic logo. There could be more clothing referencing the brand in the film, but we can't spot any others in the trailer.
Long Beach Certified
Long Beach Certified has at last one clothing item in the film in the form of a cap worn by Snoop Dogg as well as a hooded jacket seen in black and white with 'Long Beach' across the tip of the hood. We're not certain that the latter is a piece of branded Long Beach Certified clothing though, but it seems likely.
NASA
An unmistakable reference to NASA is briefly featured in the trailer as Williams' minifigure can be seen sporting a jacket adorned with their logo.
Death Row Records
A necklace referencing Death Row Records is worn by Snoop Dogg's minifigure throughout the trailer, even when he transforms into a dog.
N.E.R.D
Pharrell Williams' minifigure is sporting a yellow cap with the name and a logo of the N.E.R.D hip hop group that Williams was a member of from 1989.
Virginia Squires
A tank top for the Virginia Squires is featured in the trailer, worn by an unknown minifigure but it's one of a few possible team references in the movie we've spotted so far.
Vans
A Vans shirt is included in the Piece by Piece trailer, simply featuring the logo of the brand. This appears to be one of of many brand new collaborations for the LEGO Group that has come as a result of this new movie.
Miscellaneous brands
There are many other interesting items of clothing in the trailer but we can't quite identify if they are branded or just have interesting designs that otherwise reference moments in Williams' life or add to the scene. Some scenes don't have the best lighting and angles and we'll hopefully be able to identify more brands closer to release day on October 11.
