Plug the most bizarre gap in LEGO Marvel history
A LEGO builder has plugged one of the most bizarre gaps in LEGO Marvel history with their own custom build.
LEGO Marvel 76251 Star-Lord’s Helmet presented a challenge to the LEGO Group designers in that, unlike other helmets like Iron Man, Darth Vader, and Din Djarin, Star-Lord’s helmet doesn’t have a top to it. Instead, it leaves Chris Pratt’s hair free to ruffle in space, which may look good on screen, but leaves an odd gap in the middle of the build when recreated in bricks.
Nonetheless, the LEGO Group chose to lean into this quirk, even posing 76251 Star-Lord’s Helmet as a pencil cup in some promotional photos. LEGO Marvel fans were quick to poke fun at the unexpected feature and, now, one has even sought to fix the issue, once and for all.

Electronic-General44 took to Reddit to share their own build, now complete with a full head of hair and some forehead poking through. The custom build is now not just a helmet on a stand, but rather a miniature bust of Pratt’s Star-Lord, as if he were wearing the helmet.
Using instructions for the hair from glenn_tanner55 on Rebrickable, the final effect does look impressive and a little less unfinished than the original.
Other Reddit users were quick to compliment the design, with one writing: “Fantastic, how it should have been originally”.
Other shared that they had found uses for the original design, with one posting commenting that they use 76251 Star-Lord’s Helmet to store their brick separators, which, we have to say, is a clever way of keeping track of them.
