Power Functions 2.0 coming to LEGO City trains this year

The LEGO Group has confirmed that two new train sets in LEGO City, due for release this year, will incorporate Power Functions 2.0.

At the International Toy Fair, the LEGO Group has confirmed that two new train sets to be released this year will include an upgraded Power Functions system. Zusammengebaut reports that LEGO City 60197 Passenger Train and 60198 Cargo Train will be released in summer 2018, and will use the much anticipated Power Functions 2.0 system.

Since the introduction of WeDo 2.0, part of the LEGO Education theme, fans who enjoy adding motion to their models have been waiting for the launch of a similar version of Power Functions. The new City trains are expected to be the first consumer products to incorporate Power Functions 2.0.
