Rumoured 2023 LEGO NINJAGO City set could include rare character

A LEGO City 2023 set could include the perfect piece for a rare LEGO NINJAGO character in the rumoured 71799 NINJAGO City Markets. 

Promobricks reports that another entry into the LEGO NINJAGO City collection of sets is coming in summer 2023 with 71799 NINJAGO City Markets said to include a towering 6,163 pieces for $369.99. 

While this rumour has yet to be confirmed, it could be the fourth LEGO NINJAGO City set following 70620 NINJAGO City, 70657 NINJAGO City Docks and 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens. Each of those previous entries features rare characters from the animated series for the theme, including Mother Doomsday, Mystake and The Mechanic in each respective set.

These minifigures use a mixture of specialised prints and existing elements, varying between each character. In LEGO City 60388 Gaming Tournament Truck, a new face print is introduced that could be perfect for Cyrus Borg, given the smirk and similarly shaped glasses.

The rumour of 71799 NINJAGO City Markets is just that for now, but this design could easily be featured in another LEGO NINJAGO City set to finally give us a Cyrus Borg minifigure following his initial depiction as the OverBorg in 70722 OverBorg Attack in 2014.
