Rumoured LEGO Marvel Fantastic Four set said to be facing delays
This year’s rumoured LEGO Marvel The Fantastic Four: First Steps set is now said to be facing a short delay before arriving on shelves.
Initially reported to be debuting in April, 76316 Galactus vs. the Fantastic Four is now believed to have a possible launch date of June 2025. That’s according to Instagram user a.clay.brick, who’s shared in a new story that the LEGO Marvel model – which is thought to be the only Super Heroes set hooked to a new movie for 2025 – may be delayed by two months.
That would bring the first-ever LEGO Fantastic Four set closer to its corresponding film’s release date, which is currently scheduled for July 25, so it wouldn’t be too surprising if we did have to wait a little longer to get our hands on it. 76316 Galactus vs. the Fantastic Four is rumoured to include 427 pieces for $59.99, and would presumably include at a minimum all five characters mentioned in the product name.
Of those, Ben Grimm (The Thing) is currently believed to be a minifigure rather than a bigfig, but the jury is out on Galactus – as well as how the LEGO Group might have interpreted the abilities of the other members of the superhero squad. One possible route for Mr. Fantastic would be reusing the extended arms from Elastigirl (pictured above), but the Incredibles 2 sets are now seven years old, so there are no guarantees the relevant moulds still exist.
We may be waiting a little while longer to learn more about 76316 Galactus vs. the Fantastic Four – if it is indeed on the way at all. For now, treat it (as per all rumoured LEGO sets) lightly.
