Second LEGO Ideas 2023 results officially revealed
The results of the second LEGO Ideas round of 2023 have been revealed, confirming what new sets will soon be joining the theme.
Two upcoming LEGO Ideas sets are now confirmed to be joining the theme, as well as a third that’s undergoing further review. This is Disney Pixar’s Luxo Jr Lamp designed by T0BY1KENOBI25150 which apparently impressed the LEGO Ideas team enough to get a second look but hasn’t quite ‘ticked off all the boxes needed to move forward with it’. As such, it will have another update on whether it will become a LEGO Ideas set in the summer.
For now, we have two other LEGO Ideas sets that are fully confirmed, although it’s worth noting that the images and details shown below are still subject to change. The LEGO Ideas designers will now work with the fan designers to finalise a design to send out into the world a real LEGO Ideas set.
Minifigure Prize Machine
Fan designer Rob Vangansewinkel (also known as Goosestore) created a set that wouldn’t look out of place in a LEGO Store near the Build a Minifigure station. In fact, the LEGO Ideas team found the idea so creative that it has sparked plans for not one but two LEGO Ideas Fan Votes to decide on a new Classic Spaceman colour and a new Castle faction emblem to go along with the new set.
Western River Steamboat
Secondly, fan designer Aaron Hall (aka CTDpower) has also been successful in getting his LEGO Ideas design over the line and on the way to becoming a real LEGO Ideas set. The detailed build incorporates his own personal experience of growing up on the banks of the Mississippi and his background in architecture and designing homes and even working on a riverboat, truly putting the fan into the phrase ‘fan-designed set’.
