Secrets spotted in the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons teaser

The LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons teaser has a few interesting secrets for Dungeons & Dragons enthusiasts that might further tease the set.

Ahead of its upcoming reveal, a teaser for LEGO Ideas’ new Dungeons & Dragons set features more details than you might have spotted at first glance that could hint at the set’s contents.

Previous LEGO Ideas teasers suggest that a reveal of the first Dungeons & Dragons model is coming soon and in the meantime, here are a few secrets to look for in the teaser.

A spell scroll

Just outside of the Gelatinous Cube appears to be a page from a book with a fire design across it. This may be a scroll of fire bolt, fireball, scorching ray or another fire-based spell. It could also be a page from a wizard’s spellbook. Wizards are one of the core classes in Dungeons & Dragons and this might be teasing one of the minifigures in the LEGO Ideas set. For comparison (or for custom spellbooks), the various pages from LEGO Harry Potter sets seem to be similar.

A drink or potion

A tavern was proposed in the original LEGO Ideas challenge entry that will inspire the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons model. Referencing this inclusion, a drink using the newer tankard element is inside the Gelatinous Cube. Whether this means the tavern is still in the model is unknown and this might be a potion using a different piece entirely.

Coins

The unmistakable sight of some gold coins can also be spotted inside the Gelatinous Cube. These are the same coins that have featured in many models including the upcoming 10332 Medieval Town Square. It’s common for an adventuring party to keep gold but coins are also commonly associated with rogues (no matter how they are gained). This is another class from the game that was present in the original entry.

A Beholder shield

A beholder on a purple shield is the clearest item within the Gelatinous Cube. It’s worth noting that BoltBuild’s initial LEGO Ideas entry features a purple beholder and this seems likely to be a direct reference to the original build.

It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
