Shadow the Hedgehog debuts in first LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog 2024 set

The first images of a new LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog 2024 set have surfaced online, introducing a brand new character in Shadow the Hedgehog.

Debuting a minifigure originally teased through the LEGO Group’s social accounts, 76995 Shadow’s Escape is the first set officially on the cards for the video game theme in 2024. Online retailer JB Spielwaren has published initial images and details of the 196-piece set, which is due to arrive on shelves on January 1, and marks the introduction of a character first seen in 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2.

Shadow the Hedgehog is the series’ antihero, which basically means he has fewer compunctions around using guns to get the job done, and has appeared in countless Sonic games over the past couple decades. He also received his own spin-off title in 2005, and is a firm fan-favourite – which is presumably why the LEGO Group has already turned to the darker side of Sonic for only the theme’s second wave.

76995 Shadow’s Escape includes the hedgehog’s motorcycle, the capsule from which he escapes the clutches of Dr. Robotnik, and Cucky riding one of Dr. Eggman's Rhinobots. It’s not a bad package for €20.99 all told, especially as Shadow sports both printed arms and dual-moulded legs, along with a brand new custom head piece.

You’ll be able to get your hands on 76995 Shadow’s Escape from January 1, 2024.
