Ship in a Bottle to become an official LEGO Ideas set

Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan is the one LEGO Ideas project to pass the third 2016 review and be confirmed for official LEGO release

Jacob Sadovich’s Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan project is the only one that has passed the third 2016 review period, meaning it will become an official release under the LEGO Ideas theme. The official announcement confirmed that Jacob’s project was selected, ‘for its unique approach to what official LEGO sets can look like.’

Jacob was inspired to build a LEGO ship in a bottle after constructing a traditional one, setting himself the challenge of recreating it in bricks. The ship in a bottle is a classic challenge as it requires not just constructing the ship, but placing it in the bottle in such a way that it expands and is displayed attractively – of course the LEGO version will not be quite such a challenge. The project reached 10,000 supporters in 48 days.

The official LEGO set based on the project will be released in 2018.
