Six of the most essential March 1 LEGO minifigures to pick up
With nearly 40 new LEGO sets launching on March 1, 2025, here’s our guide to the six most essential minifigures you’ll definitely want to grab.
Wallets are in for a serious bruising this coming weekend, when almost 40 LEGO sets will be landing online and in stores. Models covering multiple themes are due to arrive on March 1, with everything from Icons, Ideas and Art to Disney, Star Wars and Speed Champions being released.
That’s a huge selection of potential builds to buy, many of which include a selection of tempting minifigures too. Fortunately, when it comes to which must-have LEGO characters you should be picking up, Brick Fanatics has you covered.
Here’s our guide to the six most essential minifigures you’ll want to add to you collection on March 1 and the set’s they’re included with:
1 – Nani

There’s a lot to like about 43268 Lilo and Stitch Beach House, from the 834-piece LEGO Disney set’s two-level beach building to Stitch’s brick-built spaceship. However, this is really a minifigure-driven model, one that includes the first-ever version of Nani, complete with unique flower in her hair piece.
2 – Stan Shunpike

Three versions of Stan Shunpike have been released to date, with the last appearing in 2019. This year LEGO Harry Potter fans will be getting the most accurate version of the character to date, with the purple-suited driver due to arrive in 76446 Knight Bus Adventure on March 1.
3 – Varl

While fans of Sony’s Horizon video game series have already been treated with one minifigure of Aloy, it’s the inclusion of her loyal ally Varl in 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth that makes this a must-have set. The first-ever version of the character boasts detailed head, torso, arm and leg printing, perfectly complementing his tough warrior companion.
4 – Nigel Mansell

With so many LEGO Formula 1 sets launching on March 1, many racing fans will likely be torn between which models to pick up. If you’re looking for a classic vehicle to add to your collection though, it has to be 10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell. The LEGO Icons build comes with a spot-on likeness of the world famous driver, complete with trademark moustache.
5 – Steve

There have been a huge number of Steve minifigures released over the years, but 21273 The Ghast Balloon Village Attack includes one of two based on Jack Black’s character as seen in the upcoming A Minecraft Movie. While the minifigure is a visually different take on the video game hero, we’re just grateful for any brick-built Jack Black releases we can get our hands on.
6 – Dorama

The massive 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops also drops on March 1, with the 3,244-piece build boasting a whopping 10 minifigures. Of those, it’s the inclusion of Dorama that is likely to get NINJAGO fans excited, with the entertainer boasting a striking purple suit and accompanying sinister puppet figure, making the set an essential purchase for those with deep enough pockets.
