Six things we’ve spotted in LEGO 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell
As one of the biggest LEGO Disney sets ever designed, there are a lot of secrets to spot in
.Based on the 2023 live-action The Little Mermaid movie,
is the largest of the trio of upcoming models for the film. It may have the most detail in a The Little Mermaid model so far, from its minifigures to features. With its release date scheduled for May 4, 2023, we’re taking a closer look at the contents of this creation and have found six interesting things worth keeping an eye out for.
6 – Unique prints

The exclusive minifigures in
cover some characters that have had minifigures before – Ursula and Ariel – but for their animated versions.Despite this, new prints have been used to better reflect the live-action adaptation, including purple details on Ursula’s specialised body element.
5 – A familiar crown

King Triton’s head, beard, hair and crown brick in
isn’t new as it first appeared in .The mini-doll’s stylised eyes have been replaced by that of a minifigure, leaving more empty space on the face but otherwise a change in hair colour is the only difference.
4 – Whozits and whatzits galore

The areas represented in
include King Triton’s throne rock, Ariel’s hideout and Ursula’s cave. Ariel’s hideout is recognisable thanks to the shipwreck and the various treasures that she has collected. This includes the relatively rare hourglass piece in light brown, which is only featured in three other sets at the time of writing.
3 – A not-so-beautiful back

The back of
isn’t quite as attractive as the front. The barebones structure of the model is visible from the back, so we’d advise displaying it against a wall.
2 – A detachabale throne

Lifestyle images for
confirm that King Triton’s Throne Rock can be detached from the rest of the model. The purpose of this detaching is unclear, but the
listing for the set mentions surprises to find alongside this image.1 – A premium booklet

The listing for
also teases a ‘premium booklet’ filled with details about both the set and the The Little Mermaid live-action film. While it’s not uncommon for 18+
models to include a special section in the instructions, it’s good to have confirmation for die-hard enthusiasts.Support the work that Brick Fanatics does by purchasing your LEGO through our affiliate links.
