The biggest LEGO Disney sets ever released – April 2023

For the 100th anniversary of Disney, three of the biggest LEGO Disney sets are launching, taking the theme under the sea, up a tree and more.

The LEGO Group’s and Disney’s partnership is in full force for the 100th anniversary of the company but their history over the past decade hasn’t exactly been quiet.

Some of the biggest LEGO sets ever made have been Disney models and with the recent reveal of 43225 Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell, it’s time look back at the largest entries in LEGO Disney to date.

7 – 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse 

Pieces: 1,016 Year: 2023 Price: £149.99 / $159.99 / €169.99 

Featuring a staggering 13 mini-dolls, covering just about every LEGO Disney Princess and some of the most popular characters, 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse launches on June 1, 2023, with just over 1,000 pieces, though the mini-doll selection is arguably the main attraction. 

6 – 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons 

Pieces: 1,022 Year: 2023 Price: £49.99 / $59.99 / €54.99 

Carrying on the legacy of LEGO DOTS by having a comparatively inexpensive set on a list of costly models, 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons’ piece count is mostly made up by smaller tile bricks, but it still has a spot on this list. It releases on June 1, 2023. 

5 – 43197 The Ice Castle 

Pieces: 1,709 Year: 2021 Price: £189.99 / $219.99 / €219.99 

Available now, 43197 The Ice Castle is the largest LEGO Frozen model with a detailed recreation of the ice castle, complete with interior. At the time of writing, it’s one of the larger mini-doll sets currently available. 

4 – 43179 Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse 

Pieces: 1,739 Year: 2020 Price: £159.99 / $179.99 / €179.99 

Retired before the 100th anniversary of Disney, it’s only fitting to have the largest depiction of Mickey and Minnie Mouse on this list. 43179 Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse 1,739 elements just overtakes 43197 The Ice Castle but comes in short of  

3 – 43225 Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell

Just revealed earlier today, 43225 Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell includes a display-focused model based on the 2023 live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, including multiple exclusive minifigures to boot. 

2 – 71044 Disney Train and Station 

Pieces: 2,925 Year: 2019 Price: £299.99 / $329.99 / €329.99 

As the second of the massive Disney Parks models, inspired by the Disneyland Resort’s Main Street station, 71044 Disney Train and Station has just under 3,000 pieces five exclusive minifigures.

The biggest LEGO Disney set released so far is the now-retired 71040 The Disney Castle, which stayed on shelves for six years. Recreating the Magic Kingdom icon in Walt Disney World, 71040 The Disney Castle has over 4,000 elements and seven minifigures.
