LEGO Ideas second 2026 review gains Ponyo, Hamlet and more

Three more LEGO Ideas projects have joined the second 2026 review and have a chance of becoming a real set, drawing from history, movies and animals.

The latest update to the second 2026 LEGO Ideas review has seen three more projects join the growing list, taking inspiration from a classic animated film, a historic production and a capybara. ElBidou's depiction of Hamlet's Skull uses about 2,150 pieces and features a realistic recreation of Yorick's skull from Shakespeare's famous stage tragedy.

A candle, stand and three minifigures are also proposed. It would be unlike anything else in the LEGO portfolio if it were selected for a future LEGO Ideas set in this review round.

Capybara’s Happy Place by Didziokas was only submitted to the platform on June 8 and has already gained enough support to be considered for an official LEGO set. The proposal is for an adorable build of a capybara on a natural display base.

Considering the success of animal models such as the likes of 21349 Tuxedo Cat and 21376 Orange Cat, it wouldn't be a surprise to see this model be selected for an official set in this round.

The final and biggest of the pitches in this update is the huge Ponyo tribute, based on Hayao Miyazaki's 2008 Studio Ghibli animated movie. The build proposes Sosuke’s house, an underwater scene, the colourful boat and five minifigures.

Studio Ghibli productions frequently appear in LEGO Ideas review rounds, but no pitches have been picked for a set so far.
