Six potential uses of LEGO’s new blue violet colour in 2026

The LEGO Group has revealed a new colour is on its way in 2026, first revealed in 11508 Daisies – but where else could it pop up?

New LEGO colours mean one thing: more range in future LEGO sets. With one eye on what’s rumoured to be on the way in 2026, we’ve been thinking about ways that blue violet (not the new shade’s official name) could be used. Some of our ideas are connected to rumoured sets, but others are just wishful thinking about what new builds and designs could stem from the new shade of purple.

6 – Sonic’s Blaze the Cat

First up is Blaze the Cat from the Sonic games. While she’s not directly connected to any rumoured sets just yet, she could well appear, seeing as we’ve had several of the other major characters already in minifigure form. The new blue violet colour would be perfect for her outfit, paired with a lighter purple for her head.

5 – More features from nature

With the new blue violet colour debuting in 11508 Daisies, it stands to reason that the purple could show up in more natural elements. Specifically, hummingbirds often have purple detailing around their heads and tail feathers, and with 31384 Wild Animals: Colourful Hummingbird rumoured to be on the way to LEGO Creator 3-in-1 next year, this could easily be a possibility.

The Wild Animals collection within that theme is known for its bright colours, as seen above in 31165 Panda Family, so this shade of purple would be in good company.

4 – Formula 1 Helmets

With three LEGO Formula 1 helmets rumoured to be on the way in 2026, many drivers have used purple for their designs over the years. We’re thinking in particular of Lewis Hamilton’s purple helmet, worn throughout the year he last won the championship back in 2020. While it might not be his most iconic helmet colour, it would be a nice nod to his last time at the top of the grid.

3 – Jango Fett, purple at last

LEGO Star Wars fans have already been debating whether this purple is enough to merit a full Jango Fett redesign. While 2026 in LEGO Star Wars is more geared towards The Mandalorian and Grogu than the prequels era, perhaps this new colour will usher in a new minifigure era for Jango, either in 2026 or beyond.

2 – Minecraft’s End Cities

This particular shade of purple could also be a handy way to refine LEGO Minecraft’s End sets, of which there have only been a handful. 21264 The Ender Dragon and End Ship, although now retired, used a much lighter, brighter purple than the murky depths of the End Cities really had. This slightly darker blue violet could be the perfect balance, especially around the base of the cities.

1 – Pokémon

Gengar

With LEGO Pokémon confirmed for 2026, it feels inevitable that we’re going to get various colourful creatures from that universe – many of which could benefit from the blue violet colour. A few initial classic Pokémon in that category include Gengar, Ditto, Rattata, and Mewtwo, but the possibilities are truly endless.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
