LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s May the 4th DLC has been released

Happy May the 4th! To celebrate, boot up your copy of LEGO Star Wars: the Skywalker Saga and download the free content update released today.

This free DLC is headlined by the addition of a brand-new playable minifigure: Luke Starkiller. This character is based on Luke’s appearance in artist Ralph McQuarrie’s classic Star Wars concept paintings produced during pre-production on the original Star Wars film. At the time of the concept art’s creation, rather than Skywalker, Luke’s name in the script was Starkiller– a name that has gone on to be used in various ways in Star Wars since.

In-game, the Luke Starkiller character sports a yellow lightsaber just like the concept art and is part of the Jedi character class, granting him all of the Force abilities usable by other Jedi. Like most of the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC characters, he doesn’t feature any new voice lines or animations – just a new minifigure to look at.

The minifigure itself uses the new Cad Bane respirator tube neck attachment introduced in 75323 The Justifier, combined with a black minifigure head to represent his mask. He has detailed arm and side of leg printing, and features dual-molded brown and black legs. Lots of original minifigure designs were created for The Skywalker Saga, so there’s no indication that this figure will ever come to exist in the physical world, but it would surely make a great promo or exclusive DK book figure if it did.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is still 60% off on all platforms until May 7, so make sure to check the game out if you haven’t had a chance and want to take advantage of a deep sale on one of the best-selling games of 2022. You can check out our review of the game here.
