Spider-Man 2 PlayStation sequel 2023 release window narrows
The sequel to the PlayStation Spider-Man video game has had its release window narrowed significantly, revealing a late 2023 launch.
In a recent post on the PlayStation blog, it has suddenly been revealed that Spider-Man 2 is coming in fall 2023, after it was previously only confirmed for some time in 2023.
“What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers.” writes Bryan Intihar, creative director on the game.
“Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022 and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall.”
Continuing where the spin-off game Spider-Man: Miles Morales left off, the first trailer for the title revealed that Venom would be facing off against the superhero duo and teased the inclusion of Kraven the Hunter too.
The LEGO Group’s partnership with PlayStation has grown notably as of late, starting with a cameo in a LEGO Marvel Spider-Man set and now including 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck.
With that in mind, a reference or minifigure inspired by and timed with the sequel title isn’t entirely out of the question, though nothing has been confirmed. It should also be noted that official minifigures for both Spider-Man PlayStation games exist but were only offered as a convention exclusive.
What has been confirmed are nine LEGO Marvel sets coming early in 2023 with four featuring Spider-Man or Miles Morales.
