Star Wars: Andor Season 2 may not release for a couple of years

With the first season of Star Wars: Andor releasing tomorrow, it’s been revealed that you shouldn’t expect the second part for a couple of years.

In a recent interview, showrunner Tony Gilroy explained how long the first season of the new Star Wars show took to shoot, offering insight into when we can expect the second confirmed season

“I have two more years to go,” Gilroy told The Wrap. “We start shooting in November on part two. And I don’t know if … Our past pattern was two years, but I mean, I’ll be on… We’ll shoot from November to August. And then our post[-production] last time was about a year.”

To summarise, that means we may see the second season of Andor on Disney+ at some point in 2024 as long as it sticks to a similar schedule as the first part. This could pair well with the story taking place over five years as we’ll be waiting a similarly lengthy period to see the remainder of the story.
