Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2020, the fan event scheduled for August, has been cancelled due to health concerns around the coronavirus pandemic.

After last taking place in April 2019, Star Wars Celebration was scheduled to return to Anaheim, California in August. With the coronavirus pandemic having disrupted events around the world, Star Wars Celebration has been cancelled due to concerns around the health of guests. The event will now take place in Anaheim from August 18 until August 21, 2022.

There was a LEGO Star Wars exclusive set rumoured for the event, which will now potentially be made available through other channels.

Here is the official statement:

At Star Wars Celebration, the health and safety of our fans, attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff is always our number one priority. Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 virus and in speaking with local and state authorities on the latest public health guidelines related to indoor conventions, we have made the decision to cancel Star Wars Celebration for 2020.

Those with tickets for the event can either get them transferred to the new date or request a refund, starting from next Monday at the official website.
