Star Wars Jedi: Survivor full trailer and release date confirmed

A first full trailer and confirmed release date for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor were revealed at The Game Awards last night.

Following much speculation and rumours, fans eagerly awaiting the upcoming arrival of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor now know when it will be launched. The Game Awards took place last night and the annual event played host to numerous trailers and first looks at upcoming video game titles.

Included in the evening’s presentation was a full trailer for Electronic Arts’ Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, as well as an announcement regarding its release date. Despite previous suggestions, the game will now launch on March 17, 2023. A direct sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the new title picks up five years after the events of the first game. Cal and BD-1 continue to evade the Empire’s constant pursuit, with former crew member Cere Junda and mercenary Bode Akuna now joining their adventures.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor looks to be packed with all-new worlds, characters and vehicles to explore. Cal also gains more traversal options (such as an ascension cable), the ability to tame and ride creatures and the option to wield two lightsabers simultaneously.

Glimpsed in the trailer are Stormtroopers, Scout Troopers and Imperial Sentry Droids, plus a mysterious character emerging from a glass tube. There certainly appears to be plenty of content in the upcoming game that would translate well into potential LEGO Star Wars sets and minifigures. However, that’s pure wish fulfilment on our part for now, as only three LEGO Star Wars sets have been confirmed for 2023 to date.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will arrive March 17, 2023, on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.
