First Star Wars Outlaws story trailer debuts next week

The first story trailer for Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world Star Wars Outlaws video game will be arriving online as soon as next week.

It’s been a long wait for players keen to learn more about Ubisoft’s upcoming Star Wars Outlaws video game, but that patience will soon be paid off. The first story trailer for the open-world title will be dropping online next week, with a world premiere taking place on April 9 at 9am PST / 6pm CET.

Star Wars Outlaws was announced last summer at the Xbox Games Showcase, with an initial trailer giving players a first glimpse at characters, ships and locations that they can expect to encounter. That was then followed by an extensive gameplay walkthrough trailer, which showcased the title’s mix of stealth and space exploration.

There are currently no specific details regarding what may be featured in the nearly three minute long story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws, but a piece of key art released alongside the announcement does offer up some tantalising new faces.

We’ve already seen the core playable character of Kay Vess, complete with furry axolotl-like creature companion, Nix, as well as a Commando Droid, the Pike crime syndicate, smugglers and other scum and villainy. The main image for the Star Wars Outlaws story trailer now adds a red-skinned Twi’lek male, an unknown woman with a blaster, a bearded male character and Jabba the Hutt.

Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws focuses on Kay, a scoundrel seeking freedom and attempting to start a new life. To do so, players will have to fight, steal and outwit their opponents while being chased by some of the galaxy’s most wanted criminals.

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC sometime in 2024.
