Star Wars: The Acolyte is rumoured to be coming this summer

Star Wars: The Acolyte is rumoured to be coming later this year as a re-release of the Phantom Menace is confirmed for before Star Wars Day.

As well as the final season of The Bad Batch and several other projects currently being made to expand a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars: The Acolyte is releasing this summer according to Collider. The series is set decades before The Phantom Menace during the High Republic era when Jedi were much more prominent than in the other eras of the galaxy.

The Disney+ series targeting a release this summer would make a lot of sense as a re-release of The Phantom Menace has recently been officially confirmed for May 3, though it’s trying in with both Star Wars Day and the film’s anniversary specifically.

While the re-release may not be directly tied to The Acolyte’s rumoured arrival in summer 2024, it could serve to remind audiences of what The Acolyte precedes and May is close to the summer months in case the Star Wars team would want to start promoting the series.

The rumour of The Acolyte launching this summer remains a rumour at the time of writing and it should be taken with caution until more is confirmed. In the meantime, the third season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch arrives on Disney+ on February 21 and LEGO Star Wars is similarly celebrating its 25th anniversary throughout 2024.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
