Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 and spin-offs teased
Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 will arrive in October and spin-off series may follow.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian seems to have been part of the success story for Disney+, with the new streaming service having gained 26.5 million subscribers since it launched in November. In a Disney earnings call, Bob Iger has announced that Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 will arrive in October, with fans able to catch up with the latest escapades of the titular character and the Child.
“The decision that we made to go with quality and not just volume is working,” Iger said during an earnings call, the Hollywood Reporter reports.
Spin-off series were also teased, with Iger suggesting that characters could be introduced in the series before then getting their own spin-off stories.
Two LEGO Star Wars sets have been released for The Mandalorian so far – 75254 AT-ST Raider (review) and 75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack (review), with more rumoured to be on the way. The debut of the second season would certainly make a sensible time to release a new wave of sets.
