The LEGO Group comments on Kirby Morrow’s passing

Following the passing of actor Kirby morrow, who has voiced Cole for the entire run of LEGO NINJAGO, the LEGO Group has shared a statement.

On November 19, actor Kirby Morrow, who has brought life to a great many characters over the years, passed away at age 47. He is best known to LEGO fans for voicing Cole in the NINJAGO animated series.

The LEGO Group has shared a statement on social media:

“We mourn the tragic loss of Ninjago actor Kirby Morrow who voiced Cole for more than ten years. His dedicated portrayal brought a unique sensibility to the character and gave hours of joy to the countless fans who have enjoyed Ninjago since 2011.

“Kirby finished his recordings for the 2021 episodes of Ninjago which will be dedicated to his memory. Thank you Kirby!”


“There is no good way to do this … I am unbelievably saddened to have just received the news that my friend Kirby Morrow has passed away. When he first auditioned for the role of Cole on Ninjago, he was our first and only pick to portray the rock of the Ninjago Team,” said LEGO Senior Creative Manager Tommy Andreasen on Twitter. He also shared the first recording of Kirby Morrow voicing Cole for his audition.

    “…first and only pick…”

    Feels like Cole should be written out after 2021 out of respect to Kirby Morrow. Maybe Skylor or another Ninja could join the team.
