The LEGO Harry Potter 2021 Advent Calendar is more interactive than ever

The LEGO Harry Potter 2021 Advent Calendar may feature new builds and minifigures, but it’s also the most interactive one yet thanks to a simple added feature.

76390 Harry Potter Advent Calendar will, as usual, include 24 builds and minifigures for each day of the Advent season. However, one of the builds may have stumped certain builders in its origin. Be warned, this article will contain spoilers for the contents of the 2021 Harry Potter Advent Calendar.

For the first time in a LEGO Advent Calendar, there are pre-determined positions for every miniature model. That’s because every mini build is part of a larger board game. As you can see in some of the images provided by LEGO.com, Journey to Hogwarts is the name of the game and has players choose a minifigure as their piece to travel to destinations across the wizarding world using the provided spinner, one of the daily builds.

During the Holiday season, players will be able to add to the board, with some models allowing for interaction with the minifigures such as the opening wall to Diagon Alley. The idea of transforming the usual LEGO Advent experience into a board game is new for 2021 and something that we might see reflected in the options for other themes. These are likely to include the normal City, Star Wars and Friends sets but another is rumoured for Marvel.
