The secrets of LEGO Star Wars 75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship

The LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series 75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship has been unveiled, and we’ve spotted a few secrets.

It’s been a huge day for LEGO Star Wars news, including the reveal of nine noteworthy LEGO Star Wars models earlier today. Alongside the likes of a buildable Chopper and a Kamino gift-with-purchase, the next Ultimate Collector Series set has been officially revealed.

75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship is swooping to shelves from May 1 for LEGO Insiders or May 4 widely with nearly 3,000 pieces and two exclusive minifigures for £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99.

While we wait for the release of this massive model, here are five secrets we spotted in official images of the prequel trilogy set.

The ship’s origins

A sticker above the cockpit reads ‘Oovo 4’ in Aurabesh, referencing the ship’s origins on the prison moon, where it was originally designed. It’s a smart reference to sneak into the Ultimate Collector Series set that fans will appreciate.

A stickered seismic charge

Stickers are prevalent in 75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship – even on the seismic charge. Multiple stickers are used to decorate the seismic charge, including on the curved astromech heads, which will be challenging to apply.

A new cockpit windscreen

75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship makes use of a new cockpit windscreen element to most accurately capture the shaping of the iconic ship. It functions similarly to elements used in models of this ship previously, including 75060 Slave I, but never with shaping this accurate.

An accurately-coloured Jango and Boba

After their last appearances in 2017’s 75191 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive, the new Jango and young Boba Fett minifigures are the most accurate.

Their skin colour now accurately reflects that of Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan. finally featuring a hair piece for Jango Fett as well as arm printing.

Spare seats

Beneath the main interior section that houses Jango and Boba, a pair of spare seats is located to transport additional minifigure passengers, not included. This is exactly how it is in the fictional ship, though with more seats further back.

Precisely how much further the interior goes is unclear, but at least there’s room for more than just Jango and Boba on board 75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
