Thieves in Germany break wall to steal 100 LEGO sets

Thieves in Germany have stolen around 100 LEGO sets after breaking a hole into a wall at a toy shop, but only took bricks, leaving boxes behind.

German police have announced that they are looking for witnesses to help with an incident that took place over the weekend in the town of Lippstadt in North Rhine-Westphalia. As reported by RP-Online Burglars have broken into a local store by making a hole in the wall of the building.

Measuring approximately one metre wide, the thieves then made their way to the LEGO section of the shop and opened approximately 100 sealed sets, taking only the bricks, likely to save space.

The police found the discarded boxes at the scene of the crime, and are currently searching for witnesses to help identify the burglars and locate the taken models.

Earlier in the month, Shanghai police also had to get involved with a business using the LEGO Group’s trademarks with no authorisation.

The LEGO Group’s products have been targets of crime before as Victoria police discovered $100,000 worth of LEGO sets that had been stolen from a shop, only to be sold in another. The investigation even required the help of Star Wars 75318 The Child.
