Travel the globe in the LEGO 31203 World Map designer video

The designer video for LEGO Art 31203 World Map has revealed some designer insight and secrets within the largest LEGO model ever.

The LEGO Group has released the accompanying designer video for 31203 World Map with Fiorella Groves on hand to explain the process of developing a model with the most pieces in a single set.

The new LEGO set, which recently released on the official online store, depicts a map of the world with different configuration depending on which region you wish to be in the centre. The primary design for the ocean is of a bathymetric map measuring the depth, but Fiorella states that the design is meant to inspire free building should builders wish to pursue it.

“When we’re making a set like this, there’s a lot of involvement from other creatives,” explains the designer. “I think that the group effort involved has been absolutely essential for us to make this map the way it is and for it to look as great as it does.”

Fiorella also teases at another hidden reference on the map that means a lot to her, and someone may have already found it.

You can pick up 31203 World Map at LEGO.com now as part of the store’s summer releases. There are quite a few offers available this month with certain regions offering a colourful DOTS Photo Holder Cube. The largest LEGO set features 11,695 pieces for £229.99 / $249.99 / €249.99.
