Two upcoming LEGO Batman sets offer very similar Batmobile builds

New (and very similar) versions of the iconic Batmobile are being included in two upcoming LEGO Batman builds this summer.

Three new LEGO Batman sets were revealed out of nowhere yesterday, with a trio of models featuring the Dark Knight’s signature vehicles, handy for pursuing the Clown Prince of Crime. 76224 Batmobile: Batman vs The Joker Chase, 76265 Batwing: Batman vs The Joker and 76264 Batmobile Pursuit: Batman vs The Joker are all due for release on August 1, 2023 and include a 4+ set and two minifigure-scale builds.

However, the high-tech vehicle featured in 76224 Batmobile: Batman vs The Joker Chase offers fans and collectors a bit of a quandary, as it’s almost identical (but not quite) to the same Batmobile included in the upcoming 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box. At first glance the two Bat rides would seem to be exactly the same, but there are some subtle differences between the two that set them apart.

A direct comparison between the Batmobiles reveals that the vehicle included in 76224 Batmobile: Batman vs The Joker Chase has protruding black hub caps, alternate pieces for the jet intakes and what appear to be much lower Bat fins at the back of the car.

From the images of the sets we’ve seen so far, it’s hard to tell if there may be other subtle difference between the two LEGO Batman models at this stage. It may be that spending a significant chunk of change on the builds may be the only way to know for sure and also add a couple more Batmobile variants to your collection.

76224 Batmobile: Batman vs The Joker Chase is a 438 piece build priced at £42.99 / $47.99 / €47.99, 76265 Batwing: Batman vs The Joker comes in at 357 pieces for £31.99 / $37.99 / €37.99 and 76264 Batmobile Pursuit: Batman vs The Joker costs £20.99 / $26.99 / €26.99 for 54 pieces. All three LEGO Batman sets will be launching on August 1, 2023.
