Two new LEGO Marvel and DC keychains revealed

A pair of new LEGO Super Heroes keychains have popped up on the online store, plundering characters from two of last year’s 4+ Marvel and DC sets.

854320 Batgirl Key Chain and 854321 The Hulk Key Chain will both launch on August 1 for £4.99 / $5.99 / €5.99 apiece, offering a couple of new character choices to pop on your keys. They’ve each been seen precisely once before in LEGO sets, and both in 4+ models released in 2024 – so unless you’ve been snapping up every single Super Heroes set, you might not have come across either of them before.

Batgirl appeared first in 76272 The Batcave with Batman, Batgirl and The Joker, which debuted on June 1 for £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99 (and you don’t need us to tell you which minifigures were otherwise included in that set). She’s rocking a light grey suit with yellow gloves, a blue cape and red hair, and you can currently pick her up on BrickLink for cheaper than the price of the keychain.

Hulk, meanwhile, has had a few slightly different minifigures over the past few years, but this one specifically pulls from another imaginatively-titled 4+ set, August 2024’s 76287 Iron Man with Bike and The Hulk. No surprises here: green body, black hair, purple shorts. And this one can also be picked up on the secondary market for less than £3.

These new keychains aren’t really a great source of minifigure parts, then, in the way that (for example) 854288 Luke Skywalker Pilot Key Chain can be appropriated for his printed arms and printed, dual-moulded legs. But if you just want to carry Batgirl or Hulk around with you on your keys, here are two good options coming our way in August.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
