‘I want to be upset but…’: LEGO fans react to Krusty Burger
The LEGO Group revealed LEGO Icons 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger yesterday, and the community has been having its say.
10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger will be available to buy from June 1 for LEGO Insiders and from June 4 for everyone else, retailing for £179.99 / $209.99 / €199.99 for its 1,635 pieces and seven minifigures. However, nothing is stopping LEGO fans from having their say already, one day on from its official reveal.
From the price to the box art, here’s a rundown of everything that’s jumping out to the community about 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger.
It always starts with the price

As always, there’s a lot for people to say on the price. It’s not far off the price of a modular, despite being significantly smaller. There is of course the IP and newly moulded minifigures to take into account, but even that is not convincing some people.
“I appreciate the LEGO Group doing something interesting and putting in effort to make the minifigures look good, but there’s got to be a line to be drawn to how much praise they deserve for this,” wrote alimar5000 on reddit. “Custom moulds or not, you can’t expect people to approve paying $50 extra because the plastic used for Homer’s head is slightly more than the plastic used for a regular LEGO minifigure head.”
Others argue that the LEGO Group’s pricing team knows what they’re doing – while still more say that, even if the set is overpriced, they’ll buy it anyway.
“I don’t care if the price per piece ratio is trash, I don’t care that it’s probably 90% stickers, and I don’t care that the character selection is strange,” commented jrtasoli on reddit, highlighting that the prices are certainly working on some people.
Nvrm1nd on reddit found the funny side, quipping: “I want to be upset but that price is exactly what Krusty would charge.”
Boring box art
Moving away from technicalities like price, some LEGO fans quickly became stuck on the box art. Released under the LEGO Icons theme and labelled 18+, 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger might be based on a family cartoon but its LEGO set has been deemed for adults. The black box art is seemingly wearing thin – and it certainly does look quite plain when put side by side with the vibrant yellow The Simpsons boxes of old.
“This is super rad but LEGO is REALLY overdoing it with the ‘it’s for adults we promise!’ branding,” wrote SaucePub on X. “This is an ’18+’ set? It’s a doll house! It has play features! The Simpsons House set from 2014 was only 12+.”
Does it suffer from the 10-year gap?

The massive reaction to 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger is in no small part due to the fact that we haven’t had a Simpsons set in 10 years, since 2015’s 71016 Kwik-E-Mart. However, fans are impressed with how well this third LEGO set fits in with that and 2014’s 71006 The Simpsons House.
“I quite like how the set fits in rather seamlessly with the previous sets despite the 10-year gap,” commented Over-Collection3464 on reddit.

Indeed, it doesn’t feel like disjointed random releases, but rather one unified theme, despite the time jump. While that’s good news for those who have the older sets, it might make those who didn’t manage to get their hands on the now-retired models feel left out.
“This set makes me regret not buying the Kwik E Mart at retail when I had the chance even more,” commented one person on Instagram, while Salacnar on reddit agreed: “They should also then re-release the Simpsons house again.”
There’s certainly room for more

When thinking about how 10352 fits in with the wider LEGO The Simpsons landscape, some people are also underwhelmed with the choice of Krusty Burger as a location. There are arguably plenty of other more iconic locations that would have worked, like the power plant, the school, or even Flanders’ house.
“As a set it’s okay, although of all the third sets they could have made with the Simpsons, the Nuclear Power Plant was the one I was hoping for,” said TheLimeyLemmon on reddit, echoing one of the most popular sentiments on the LEGO forum.
LEGO Icons 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger will be available to buy from June 1 if you’re signed up to the LEGO Insiders program (or June 4 if not) for £179.99 / $209.99 / €199.99. If you order your copy between June 1 and 7, you’ll also receive a free The Simpsons Living Room gift-with-purchase (while stocks last).
