It looks like you’re designing a LEGO set! Would you like help?

Everyone’s favourite insistent Word assistant could become a real LEGO Ideas set, thanks to the support of 10,000 nostalgic fans.

In a world where AI assistants are blended seamlessly into every piece of software you use, long gone are the days when Clippy would pop up in Microsoft Office to offer you help on the letter you were writing. However, you could soon return to that golden age of computing, with a nostalgic LEGO Ideas project.

Designed by PiotrGierwatowski, Clippy is a compact but very effective design, using LEGO bricks to replicate the animated paperclip. The exaggerated eyebrows and wide eyes are well captured through curved LEGO pieces and he’s ready to display, thanks to a brick-built base.

No piece count is given but it’s definitely on the smaller end of LEGO Ideas projects, rendered simply but accurately. Clippy becomes the seventh LEGO Ideas project in the second 2025 review, one step closer to becoming a real LEGO Ideas set.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
