Wayne’s World and Old Hangar join LEGO Ideas 10K surge

Despite being less than a week in, July has already been a busy month for the second 2026 LEGO Ideas review, with two more high-quality projects reaching the 10,000-vote milestone.

The latest submissions come from completely different inspirations. One is based on an endlessly quotable, iconic 1990s comedy, while the other recreates a giant, rustic aircraft hangar.

The movie Blocksandmocs chose to recreate is Wayne's World, the 1992 comedy starring Mike Myers as the titular Wayne. The project – Wayne’s World Basement Studio – recreates the iconic setting where Wayne and Garth attempt to fight back against corporate TV executives.

The build is packed with references to the film, including Wayne's guitar, the duo's retro furniture, music posters and a snack station. Naturally, it also includes Wayne and Garth minifigures, with Wayne's moulded hair-and-cap piece standing out as a particular highlight.

Bringing a completely different style to the second 2026 review, but an equally impressive build, is Enzo_Young's Old Hangar. The 3,191-piece project measures 47cm long and more than 30cm tall and wide.

The model features a weathered aircraft hangar housing a detailed biplane, along with two minifigures: an engineer servicing the aircraft and a leather-jacket-wearing pilot. The hangar itself is split across two floors. The ground floor includes a workbench, aircraft engine, traffic cones and fuel drums, while the upper floor contains a cabinet, record player, tables, chairs and trophies.

Outside, the project also includes a small tractor, while the hangar doors can be opened and closed. The biplane can also be partially disassembled to reveal its detailed internal structure.

Both projects now have a chance of becoming official LEGO Ideas sets when the second 2026 review begins in September.
