What could the mystery rumoured LEGO Star Wars 2024 set be?

A new LEGO Star Wars rumoured to feature a 25th-anniversary minifigure could continue one of the theme’s most recent and oddest ranges.

R2-KT is rumoured to be the last 25th-anniversary minifigure in a set speculatively named 40755 [Star Wars 25th Celebration], as stated by Clay_Bricks via maxbautde. The tentatively named and rumoured LEGO Star Wars set is believed to include 383 pieces and be released in October 2024.

With the 40755 numbering, this model could be a promotional item or at least one a bit different compared to the rest of the theme, similar to 40657 Dream Village in LEGO DREAMZzz and 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama in LEGO Star Wars last year.

The minifigures in 40755 [Star Wars 25th Celebration] as well as R2-KT – who may not relate to the set’s subject matter – are believed to include three Rebel Troopers and three Stormtroopers. With this rumoured minifigure selection, one of the first scenes that comes to mind may be the same moment that 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV is inspired by.

It seems unlikely that a second model based on this scene would be the same in any major way though. The official LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary webpage features a short video parodying this scene with a party inside the Tantive IV instead of an attack, similar to the holiday part in 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama.

It could be that the rumoured 40755 [Star Wars 25th Celebration] is another unique celebration diorama but not for the festive season, for the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars. This could in turn expand on 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV differently than an extra copy of the set can.

For now, the existence of 40755 [Star Wars 25th Celebration] as well as a LEGO R2-KT remain just a rumour and all reported details should be taken with caution in case they turn out to be partially false or wholly inaccurate.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
