What is LEGO One Piece’s Chopper figure?

A new Chopper figure for LEGO One Piece has been teased, but it’s not clear what kind of LEGO figure it is, or if it’s something new entirely.

Following the reveal of the first LEGO One Piece set, 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit, official social media accounts teased a Chopper figure based on the second season of the series. While it suggests that there are more LEGO One Piece sets on the way beyond 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit, the teased figure creates more questions than it answers.

Chopper is a much smaller character than any of the other characters in One Piece, until he transforms. You’d therefore expect a similarly small LEGO figure, rather than a full minifigure. Looking at the teaser, a LEGO baby similar to the initial Grogu figure would be the obvious pick. There are a couple of reasons why this probably isn’t the case, though.

When lining up an image of a LEGO baby with the Chopper figure, the shape just doesn’t match up. The body is too thin, and the hands are angled down further than they should be. The head also appears to be too large, suggesting that Chopper simply isn’t a LEGO baby.

The proportions of the body don’t match up with those of a minifigure, either. The arms are too short, but we can see that the hands are the right size, able to grip accessories accordingly. Chopper’s head may be one of a standard minifigure, too. That would mean the quirky hat can be applied to other minifigures.

Chopper appears to be something new, a mix between a standard minifigure and a baby figure. He has a more stout body, but with standard minifigure hands attached to shorter arms. Such innovations aren’t new, as Grogu has undergone a makeover for The Mandalorian and Grogu sets.

With this analysis in mind, the full reveal of the new Chopper minifigure will be interesting to see. There are six LEGO One Piece sets currently rumoured, and 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit is confirmed for launch on August 1, 2026.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
