What to expect from LEGO at San Diego Comic-Con 2025

San Diego Comic-Con 2025 gets underway tomorrow, and the LEGO Group will be in attendance – so here’s what to expect from this year’s event…

The LEGO Group has had a consistent presence at SDCC for several years at this point, culminating in last year’s extravagant space-themed booth. Its approach to the convention has a clear pre- and post-pandemic divide, though – so with one eye on the most recent San Diego Comic-Cons, here’s everything we’re expecting to see from the LEGO Group at this year’s event, which runs from July 24 to 27.

LEGO SDCC 2025 set reveals

New LEGO set reveals are pretty much a given at San Diego Comic-Con, so we’re expecting to see the LEGO Group pull back the curtain on at least one or two upcoming products. Last year’s event included reveals for 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter, 77000 Shadow the Hedgehog, 21281 Baby Pig’s Birthday Celebration, 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi and 71047 Dungeons & Dragons.

The theme that unites all those is ‘licensed sets and minifigures’, predominantly hooked to video games and TV. Given this is a comic convention, similar pop culture-inspired models are most likely to be on the cards for 2025 – but nothing is confirmed at this stage.

The LEGO booth at SDCC has grown bigger and more elaborate over the years, and 2024’s was arguably the most impressive yet, hooked to the company’s wider year of LEGO Space-themed sets. That booth featured model displays, building stations, a life-sized brick-built astronaut and several other giant LEGO builds, so we’re expecting something similar in scope and ambition for 2025.

Exactly what the theme for this year’s booth might be is anyone’s guess, as the LEGO Group’s cross-theme focus for 2025 is Formula 1, which doesn’t seem especially suited to San Diego Comic-Con. There’s always a chance that it has no singular theme, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it tied to a potential set reveal either. Watch this space.

SDCC 2025 LEGO exclusives

While the LEGO Group has scaled back on SDCC exclusives since the show returned in person following the pandemic, it typically has a handful of rare items available for attendees. Last year, those included a LEGO MASTERS minifigure and Space patch, while in 2023 the NINJAGO team handed out an exclusive Baby Riyu figure to fans. Similar event-exclusive souvenirs could well be on the table this year.

SDCC 2025 LEGO panels

Two LEGO panels are already confirmed for San Diego Comic-Con 2025. The first is a LEGO NINJAGO panel, which will see Kai and Wyldfyre voice actors Vincent Tong and Kazumi Evans perform a new scene live on stage. LEGO Entertainment exec producers Ryan Burns and Pamela Keller will also be on hand with announcements related to NINJAGO’s 15th anniversary in 2026.

The second panel will offer a behind-the-scenes look at LEGO MASTERS USA, which is currently airing its fifth season and is already casting for Season 6. Contestants from Season 5 will be in attendance, along with executive producers Brent Benedetti, Robert May and Michael Heyerman. Check out the table below for specific timings of both these panels.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
