The winning LEGO DREAMZzz Chief Dream Creators have been revealed

Following a competition that was launched earlier this year, the six winning LEGO DREAMZzz Chief Dream Creators have now been revealed.

Back in May 2023, the LEGO Group announced a competition based around its most recent new theme, LEGO DREAMZzz. The hunt was on to find a group of young Chief Dream Creators for a series of workshops championing the creativity of dreams within the company. Now the results of that search have been announced, with details of the six lucky winners finally revealed.

Potential candidates were required to submit their own builds or drawings of creatures and vehicles seen in dreams, along with a short description of what it was, what it could do and why it was exciting. The winning LEGO DREAMZzz Chief Dream Creators were selected from thousands of global entries and a wide range of imaginative ideas, including 11 year-old Samuel Debenham from the UK.

The young designer created a Sea Horse Submarine that followed the theme’s core concept of combining two items into one to make something new and unique. As part of his prize, Samuel got to travel to LEGO HQ in Billund to witness his creation being brought to life by LEGO DREAMZzz animators and designers.

Commenting on the finished model, Samuel said, “Taking part in the workshop got me thinking really creatively, and I’m happy the designers liked my Seahorse Submarine – they brought it to life perfectly and it was so cool to see all its features captured in LEGO bricks.” He went on to say, “It was just as I had imagined it to look with the secret compartment in the ‘belly’, the long periscope neck and the twisty tail with the propeller at the end.”

Five more children have also been named as being in the winning LEGO DREAMZzz Chief Dream Creators line-up, including:

Marisol Acosta, 12 years old, USA – The Dreamer Dragon. A majestic purple dragon made out of clouds and carrying on his back a home and the Book of Imagination, to inspire the LEGO characters, and to guide them on their quests.

Stanislaw Krawczyk, 6 years old, Poland – The Flying Frog. An amazing green frog that can leap into the sky and fly around in adventures.

Matthew Chng, 11 years old, Singapore – Giraffe Mail. A giraffe who delivers mail to the dreamers using rocket boosters that shoot leaves instead of fire.

Julia Bisweska-Sidoruk, 12 years old, UK – The Dreamstone Guardian. A white cat-like creature, who lives on land and in water, is able to glide and shrink, all to help it protect its precious dreamstones.

Gergo Zoltán Fullér, 12 years old, Hungary – The Vara-Wasp. A combination of a wasp and varanus (monitor lizard) who uses his tongue to smell and lives away from cities, protecting itself with its sting.

“The LEGO DREAMZzz theme is all about dreams becoming real and imagination being a super-power,” said Marcia Marks Laursen, Head of Product for LEGO DREAMZzz. “To host our Chief Dream Creators at the LEGO Headquarters to learn more about how they harnessed their own creative abilities to design these creatures was an unforgettable experience and left us feeling very inspired.”
