2024 is the year of LEGO food trucks, apparently
It’s LEGO food truck season in 2024 as four different models of all shapes, sizes and food types are about to hit shelves at once.
Whatever event your minifigures have planned, they’re sure to be well-catered in 2024 with four new LEGO food truck sets. Following the official reveal of 40681 Retro Food Truck earlier today, 2024 is tied for the title of the year with the most LEGO food truck sets, and it’s yet to begin.
Through 11036 Creative Vehicles, 40681 Retro Food Truck, 42633 Hot Dog Food Truck and 60404 Burger Truck, 2024 is packed with four LEGO food truck sets so far, offering ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, fries and drinks to minifigures and mini-dolls alike. Notably, at least three of these models are scheduled to be released on January 1, 2024, leaving the other 11 months for one more food truck model to be released.
While no details have been confirmed for 40681 Retro Food Truck, its appearance alongside 10326 Natural History Museum in official images and its addition to LEGO.com earlier today suggests that it could be offered at some point in January when the modular building would have traditionally launched.
As long as one more food truck set is released next year, 2024 will feature the most of these types of models in LEGO history. It’s a niche title to claim, but one that the year has almost claimed before 2024 has even started. Currently tied for the top spot are 2022 and 2020 too with four food truck sets each.
