270,000-piece LEGO Jurassic World: Rebirth model revealed

A massive LEGO Jurassic World: Rebirth build, using more than 270,000 pieces, has been revealed for the debut of the new dinosaur film.

Jurassic World: Rebirth has only just been released in cinemas worldwide, and the LEGO Group has been quick to follow up the film with the latest big build. A 270,568-piece recreation of a Spinosaurus leaping on the back of Duncan Kincaid’s boat has been revealed on Instagram.

The video states that the model took a team of model makers 1,100 hours to put together before it went on display in time for the premiere of the film. The boat itself does not appear to be made of LEGO elements, but the Spinosaurus certainly is.

Where this model is on display, or potentially was, is unknown. We can tell from the advert for the Museum of Broadway in the reel that the building housing the huge creation is likely somewhere in New York.

The new movie is available to watch now and a wave of LEGO sets based on the movie (with a notable level of accuracy, without delving into spoilers) is available alongside it. This includes the huge 76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission with two massive dinosaurs, and 76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission with Duncan’s boat.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
