New LEGO Architecture set ties into Disney, Harry Potter and Pokémon
LEGO Architecture’s next set is based on a location which has inspired Disney, Harry Potter and Pokémon, pairing with current and future releases.
The new 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle is just a couple of months away, depicting one of the most stunning, fantastical locations which can be found in Bavaria. The details inside and outside of this build have already impressed following its reveal last week, but there’s another aspect of this build to consider ahead of its release.
The stunning Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most beautiful and fantastical castles to physically exist, so much so that it served as the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle, and the front view of the castle makes this inspiration clear.
This real-life inspiration means that 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle will go perfectly alongside 40720 Mini Disney Sleeping Beauty Castle when it launches on August 1, and the displayable Disney set is retiring later this year at the time of writing.

Neuschwanstein Castle is also claimed to be the inspiration for Cameran Palace in the Pokémon movie, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and seeing the LEGO set and the fictional location side by side offers some credibility to that claim.
With LEGO Pokémon officially launching next year, it may well be worth keeping 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle in mind just in case we get figures of Lucario and Mew to create a tribute to the iconic animated movie. This is on top of a crossover between Architecture and Pokémon earlier this year.

Rounding out the unusual connections in 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle is the fact that the real-life castle serves as the backdrop for the German National Quidditch Stadium in the Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup 2003 video game.
This can serve as the inspiration for a display pairing 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle with one of the many Quidditch sets from throughout LEGO Harry Potter’s history. The 30651 Quidditch Practice polybag will work particularly well thanks to its small scale.

There are many reasons to admire 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle, and these connections to beloved franchises only increase the new set’s appeal. LEGO Architecture 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle will be available to buy from August 1, retailing for £239.99 in the UK, $279.99 in the US, and from €269.99 in Europe.
