All nine Star Wars films will return to cinemas in May

All nine Star Wars films across three trilogies will return to cinemas to celebrate Star Wars Day in May.

American cinemagoers can experience all three Star Wars trilogies in cinemas once more, with all nine films returning to the big screen to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4. 2024 is also 25 years since the release of The Phantom Menace, making it a doubly special year, as well as the anniversary for 25 years of LEGO Star Wars.

As well as seeing the actual moves, those attending the screenings will also get an exclusive look at The Acolyte, the upcoming Disney+ series set during the High Republic era ahead of its release on June 4, and a special limited edition poster.

Tickets for the movie marathon went on sale here on March 22 and you can find a theatre near you by entering your zip code. Cinemas will show all nine films in chronological order: The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker.

This isn’t the only Star Wars-themed celebration ahead of May 4, however, with the Empire State Building getting into the spirit of things with a projection of Darth Vader on the side of the skyscraper.
