Animated version of new LEGO NINJAGO set reveals more lore
LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising Season 3 clips continue to be shared, including the animated form of a new set with some lore to learn.
Following the release of three major LEGO NINJAGO sets just over a week ago and an initial clip from the next season of LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising, the LEGO Group is continuing to focus on Thunderfang in the lead-up to Season 3, which is still scheduled to premiere worldwide on April 17.
The new clip is available to watch below and confirms a link between the Forbidden Five and the rejected Source Dragon. This is also the best look yet at the dragon in his unique chains, which can be compared to one of the three new sets. Make sure to listen out for the new lore in the clip as well.
This scene and location are certainly the inspiration for 71832 Thunderfang Dragon of Chaos, explaining the collar and manacles included to hold Thunderfang in the set as well as the chain-releasing feature activated by multiple Prismatic Blades.

Unlike most other dragons in NINJAGO, the clip also confirms that Thunderfang has a voice actor, but the actor has not been confirmed at the time of writing. His immense size and power showcased in this last clip, combined with his intelligence and voice in this clip, reveal just how much of a threat Thunderfang is going to be to the theme’s heroes.
Notably, the clip also reveals that the collar in 71832 Thunderfang Dragon of Chaos is the wrong way round in the set images, with the hoop at the bottom and the gem at the top in the show. Unfortunately, there’s no way to attach the set’s collar in the correct configuration securely, but it will sit the right way round loosely.
71832 Thunderfang Dragon of Chaos is available now alongside 71836 Arc Dragon of Focus and 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops as part of the confirmed and rumoured NINJAGO 2025 selection.
