Another LEGO Star Wars set inspired by The Mandalorian surfaces online
Almost a full week after the finale of The Mandalorian aired, we get our first clear look at another LEGO Star Wars set connected to the show – as well as a confirmed release date.
We’d already spotted rumours for LEGO Star Wars 76348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor but now it’s confirmed to be on its way, thanks to a listing from a Dutch retailer. We can now see that the 956-piece set will include three minifigures and (predictably from the name) two brick-built ships, as well as a brand new design for a black R2-E6 unit.
It looks like the full price of €99.99, with a limited-time offer of €84.99 on display from the retailer. This suggests that a similar price of £89.99 in the UK or $99.99 in the United States is likely.
Judging from the images, both ships will have interactive elements, with the ability to shoot transparent elements from its guns. The ships themselves are based on Season 3’s Fang Fighters and the TIE Interceptors that they battled during the climax of the season.
Even more excitingly, this will offer you another chance to get your hands on the Darksaber, along with the Din Djarin figure to wield it. Here’s a closer look at all the images available to us.
It looks like the other two minifigures are a generic TIE Interceptor pilot and Mandalorian, although the armour colour of the Mandalorian looks quite close to Axe Woves.
LEGO Star Wars 76348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor will be available to buy from May 1, 2023, according to the listing. However, there have also been apparent reports of people spotting them in American stores and even getting to purchase them in shops like Target, days before the actual release date.
Unless you’re one of those lucky few, you’ll need to wait until May 1. Still, at least then you’ll be able to make the most of the LEGO Star Wars deals on offer for May 4, the details of which are explained for you here.
